Job Title: Procedure Writer - Technical

Position Overview:
We are building our candidate pool for upcoming maintenance procedure writing projects in the power generation industry. We are seeking PPA Certified Maintenance Procedure Writers with proven experience developing, reviewing, and human factoring procedures for power generation plants. Ideal candidates are highly detail-oriented, collaborative, and experienced in working within strict regulatory and operational guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, review, and human factor maintenance procedures in accordance with PPA (Procedure Professionals Association) standards
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure procedural accuracy and usability
  • Review technical documentation, vendor manuals, and system drawings to support content development
  • Ensure procedures comply with industry regulations, site-specific standards, and best practices
  • Incorporate human performance tools and error-prevention strategies into procedural content
  • Participate in peer reviews, verification & validation activities, and client review meetings

Qualifications:

  • PPA Certification required
  • 3+ years of experience writing maintenance procedures in the power generation industry (nuclear, oil & gas, or renewable preferred)
  • Strong understanding of industry codes, standards, and safety protocols
  • Excellent writing, editing, and formatting skills
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a project team
  • Familiarity with procedure authoring tools and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Willingness to travel and/or work on-site depending on project needs

Preferred Experience:

  • Background in plant maintenance
  • Experience with Procedure Writing in regulated environments (e.g., INPO, NRC, OSHA)
