Instructions

Use the PDF Rebuild Procedure as your source document. It represents a typical procedure you would revise into a human-factored, technically accurate procedure.

Use the Word Rebuild Procedure only as a convenience copy to support copy-and-paste (paste as “Keep Text Only”). Perform the final verification of your rewrite against the original PDF, not the converted Word file.
Use the PSM Generic Procedure template as the required format for your revised procedure.
Use the Procedure Writer Human Performance Self Check Checklist to self-check your work before submitting. Add any comments, questions, or clarifications you believe are important for the exercise Reviewer directly onto the checklist items. Return your completed self-checklist with your revised procedure submission.
Use the Written Exercise Template Instructions to configure Word so you can properly access and use the template.

You are not expected to rewrite the entire procedure. However, to allow the Reviewer to properly assess your abilities, complete enough of the exercise to demonstrate correct use of each of the required procedure sections, and to clearly demonstrate the items this exercise is designed to assess. In general, a more extensive revision on your part gives the Reviewer a better basis to distinguish between isolated issues and recurring trends in your work.

During your rewrite, use Word’s “Review → New Comment” feature to capture any points you want the Reviewer to know about your revisions. For example, if you need SME clarification on an acronym or an action verb, or want to inform the SME why you selected a specific step wording, note that in a comment. You do not need to comment on everything; focus on key points that show your thought process, questions or comments for the SME, and how you approached the revision. (I want to add a reference image for this feature here)
